2024 Siskiu T8 in Depth Review:

Siskiu T8 Pros:
The standouts here are the suspension and the drivetrain. This is where most manufacturers cheap out unfortunately and these components are the most costly to replace but with the Siskiu T8 you start at a GREAT spot.

The Shimano SLX drivetrain is an absolute WORKHORSE that can take a lot of abuse and keep shifting smooth and fast.
The Fox 34 Rhythm and Float DPS are fantastic on trails and can handle a lot of abuse before they get close to their limit.

Siskiu T8 Cons:
They have to cut costs somewhere and on the Siskiu T8 that would be the brakes and tires. I will say, I rode the Tektro brakes for months with absolutely zero problems even at bike parks. BUT on very long descents and technical steep double black trails the Tektro brakes just don’t have the bite you’d get from higher offerings.

The good news is that you can quickly improve these brakes by either over-bleeding them (don’t tell the manufacturer I said this) or replacing the provided rotors with something like the Shimano RT-70 and getting some new pads.
As far as the tires, it seems that these bikes are listed with the VeeTire Co. Snap WCE TLR but I have heard of people getting random tires when the bike arrives. The VeeTire’s aren’t horrible but there is a reason the industry is dominated by a few top brands. Again, these aren’t expensive things to replace so not a deal breaker by any means.
Siskiu T8 Review Final Thoughts:
The Polygon Siskiu T8 is an incredibly capable bike that can handle pretty much anything thrown at it. The pros heavily outweigh the cons and the cons are easily and (relatively) cheaply fixed. I’ll be posting an article on what I’d recommend to upgrade first and what components I put on on my Siskiu T8 here soon.

Siskiu T7 Thoughts:
We’ll keep this short and sweet, the T7 is still a great bike BUT with the bike priced at $1,899.00 currently it just doesn’t make sense to recommend this over the T8.
Personally, I would wait a bit longer and save up the extra few hundred for the T8, the better suspension alone is worth it.
However, if the T8 isn’t in the cards the T7 is still a solid bike. Shimano’s Deore drivetrain is nothing to scuff at and the performance is beastly at the price point. The suspension provided by Rockshox will perform just fine and will definitely handle difficult trails.

Polygon has recently released the Siskiu T6. I’ve fully covered this bike as well in my Polygon Siskiu T6 Review here. Go check it out if you’re looking for an even more budget friendly option!
